    Opportunity | Duty Description

    Job Summary

    The Social Worker provides psychosocial support and child protection services to children, adolescents, and families affected by HIV. They conduct counseling, facilitate disclosures, support GBV survivors, and strengthen referrals to social and protection services.

    Key Duties and responsibilities

    • Conduct individual and group counseling for children, caregivers, and adolescents.
    • Support safe disclosure of HIV status to children and families.
    • Provide psychosocial support for ART adherence and retention.
    • Identify and support cases of GBV, abuse, and neglect, ensuring referrals to appropriate services.
    • Facilitate case conferencing with SSCs, CCWs, and health facility staff.
    • Provide mentorship and training for CCWs on psychosocial support and child protection.
    • Document and report all cases in line with organizational procedures.
    • Collaborate with government social workers and child protection units.

    Opportunity | Duty Requirement(s)

    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (registered with Namibian Social Work Council).
    • 5+ years of experience in child protection and psychosocial support.
    • Knowledge of HIV-sensitive case management and disclosure support.
    • Experience providing GBV response services.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Fluency in English and local languages relevant to the region.
