    Opportunity | Duty Description

    Preventative Maintenance Leadership

    • Develop, implement, and oversee preventative maintenance schedules for all electrical and mechanical systems in the plant, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.  
    • Supervise and coordinate maintenance teams, assign tasks, and monitor execution to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to standard.
    • Ensure adherence to the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), keeping accurate records of maintenance activities, asset history, and spare parts usage.
  • Equipment & Systems Management

    • Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical installations, motors, drives, control systems, and switchgear.
    • Oversee maintenance of mechanical systems, including conveyors, pumps, compressors, refrigeration systems, boilers, and processing machinery.
    • Plan and execute predictive and reliability-centered maintenance initiatives to extend asset life.
    • Coordinate shutdown maintenance, including resource planning, procurement of spares, and contractor management.
  • Compliance & Safety

    • Enforce compliance with occupational health and safety standards, electrical codes, and statutory regulations.
    • Conduct risk assessments on maintenance activities and implement corrective/preventative safety measures.
    • Maintain equipment certifications, inspections, and audits in line with industry and company requirements.
  • Team & Resource Management

    • Train, mentor, and upskill maintenance personnel in both mechanical and electrical fields.
    • Liaise with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to align maintenance activities with operational requirements.
    • Control maintenance budgets, monitor cost efficiency, and ensure optimal use of manpower, spares, and consumables.
  • Continuous Improvement

    • Identify and implement process and equipment improvements to increase plant reliability and efficiency.
    • Stay updated with technological advancements in industrial electrical and mechanical systems, recommending upgrades where beneficial.
    • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for major equipment failures and establish long-term corrective actions.

    Opportunity | Duty Requirement(s)

    • Namibian citizenship
    • National Diploma/Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
    • Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 5 years in a supervisory/management role.
    • Proven background in electrical and mechanical maintenance within food processing, manufacturing, or heavy industry.
    • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems (motors, drives, PLCs, MCCs, power distribution).
    • Sound mechanical expertise in rotating equipment, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabrication.
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics.
    • Solid understanding of reliability engineering principles and predictive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, etc.).

    • Competency in using CMMS software and maintenance reporting tools.

    Added Advantages | Special Requirement(s)

    • Trade Test Certificate (Electrical/Mechanical Fitter/Millwright) will be an added advantage.
    • Additional certifications in preventative/predictive maintenance, CMMS systems, or project management will be an added advantage.
    • Experience working with high-voltage electrical systems, automation/PLC-controlled systems, and refrigeration plants are highly advantageous.
