    Opportunity | Duty Description

    Qualified Electrician 

    A qualified electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and components across residential, commercial, and industrial environments. This includes both low and medium voltage systems, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with national regulations. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, circuits, switchgear, transformers, and fixtures
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity
    • Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and safety
    • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute installations accurately
    • Ensure compliance with safety codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
    • Respond to emergency outages and restore electrical services promptly
    • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other trades to coordinate electrical work on infrastructure projects
    • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs and inspection reports
    • Stay updated on technological advancements and best practices in electrical systems

    Tools & Equipment Used

    • Multimeters, voltage testers, cable cutters, crimping tools
    • Personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, goggles, and insulated gear

     Work Environment

    • Construction sites, port facilities, public infrastructure, and private buildings
    • May involve working at heights, in confined spaces, or during off-hours for emergency repairs

    Opportunity | Duty Requirement(s)

    • Trade Qualification: Completion of a recognized vocational training program in Electrical Engineering or Installation (e.g., National Vocational Certificate Level 3 or higher)
  • Trade Test Certificate: Must have passed a certified trade test in electrical work
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years practical experience in electrical installations, maintenance, and fault finding
  • Driver’s License: Valid Code B license is often required for mobility between sites
  • Language Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret technical documents in English
